4 Simple Things You Can Do Every Day To Help Release Fear

Although fear has a way of holding us back and stopping us from living the life we want, the real problem lies more in our relationship with fear, rather than fear itself.

Unfortunately, most of us have an unhealthy relationship with fear. We too often allow it to control a big part of our everyday lives.

The thing is, fear is just a normal part of the human condition. It’s always going to be there. It’s an instinct ingrained in our DNA to help us navigate through this treacherous world. The problem begins when we give way too much power to fear. Doing so debilitates us and causes us to lead a life filled with anxiety, regrets, and scarcity.

  • Thinking self-limiting thoughts
  • Having a hard time taking action
  • Feeling unworthy
  • Running away from your problems
  • Becoming narrow-minded
  • Putting our power in someone else’s hand
  • Feeling hopeless
  • Always blaming others

Here are four steps to can take to jumpstart the process of reworking an unhealthy relationship with fear.

4. Recognize Your Fear

The first step in creating a healthy relationship with fear is to recognize it in action. If you have been functioning from a place of fear all your life, you may not even notice it as it arises.

Start by being mindful when your fear arises. Observe your fearful thoughts and learn how it operates.

This is how fearful thoughts often sound like:

  • “I better not do it. Other people will laugh at me.”
  • “I can’t do this.”
  • “That’s not possible. ”
  • “I am not good enough. I don’t have enough.”

When you’re able to identify your fear, you’ve already won half the battle.
